| We
raised Smokeys Bob Cat. I’d always wanted to get some Poco Iwo mares
but by the time we were in a position to look for some, there weren’t
many left. Pocos Meow was one of the
best. She was a heavy muscled, pretty headed, sweet tempered, dun mare. I’d admired Smokey Duster Too for quite a few years so we bred “Kitty” to him and Smokeys Bob Cat was the result. He has proven to be a keeper. Like his ancestors, his colts have bone, conformation, muscle, speed, and all day heart. He has sired winning race horses, cutting horses, and charro horses. Many inherit his Silver Dun color.He produces a high percentage of Gray horses as well as Dun horses.See 9 of his offspring in our “ Quarter Horses for Sale “ section. | We
raised Smokin Array too. His grandmother, Dipsy Jo, was as wide as she
was tall and so is he. His mother, Dipsy Duster, is worthy of a World
Champion and we chose Spanish Array as much for his bone and good mind
as his halter looks. This horse has always been a gentleman. When the grandbabies come to visit he’s the one we put them on. Smokin Array’s offspring are heavy made, heavy boned, big hipped, good minded, willing horses. He’s speedy enough for team roping, and can spin a hole in the ground. Pasture or hand breeds. | We
bought San Bolero to give us a good outcross. We went to see
a gray
colt, but “Bonzi” was the one. He has size, balance, great
bone and a
super mind, and he passes it on to his offspring. His first foal crop was so easy to halter break we were tempted to give him all the mares! His offspring are displaying a lot of performance ability: we already know they look good. His paternal bloodlines are NCHA cutting horses royalty. His maternal side includes some horse racing legends. Barrel Racing enthusiasts take notice! His daddy is gray and we’ve had quite a few gray foals so far. San Bolero possesses the hybrid vigor of a royal lineage from both the cutting horse indusrty and the horse racing industry. Our goal is to raise all-around Quarter Horses that can compete in cattle events, speed events, and display eye-appealing conformation and color.
